With the assistance of an electric motor, the region’s challenging hills become an exhilarating part of the ride, opening up countless possibilities. I ride a Ribble Touring bike with straight handlebars, and these routes are a testament to what an ebike can achieve, making even the hilliest terrain enjoyable for all ages.

Safe cycling on country lanes

When you're out cycling on Devon's charming but often narrow country lanes, safety is paramount. I always recommend adopting the 'Primary Position'. This means riding in the centre of your lane, which allows you to clearly see as far as possible ahead, and crucially, ensures you are seen by other road users, both from the front and behind. It’s a simple, effective tip for a safer ride.
